ASSIGNMENT PROPOSAL

My Professional Practice assignment has initially been influenced by the research which I have carried out during my Dissertation. I had decided that the body of works I produce this year are to be based more on the concepts of art through the photographic medium. My aim is to find many influences from various mediums used for expressing the art form, therefore allowing me to find ways of expressing and interpreting my work in numerous ways.

One of these area's I want to focus on is composite photography, this is something which i touched upon in the second year of my degree and i found it to have a large scope for creating both distinctive and artistic work either through analog or digital photography.

The research I plan to undertake will include some of the photographers I have focused on for my dissertation, including Idris Khan and Thomas Ruff and also a selection of others as well as painters. I also plan on looking at various competitions to see which one is most suitable for the work I hope to produce, and I intend on researching into the current market to see what kinds of opportunities are open to photographers producing art and if this is a viable route open to future work.

In summary this assignment will be me working on developing my current skills and embracing the digital era, whether that be through the actual taking of the image or during the manipulation process.
